🟢 How to Use Franklin Textured Balls for Foot Release & Balance
Share
Release tension, awaken your feet, and improve your posture — all in just a few minutes a day.
The Franklin Method® Textured Ball Set – Green is one of our best-selling tools for a reason. These firm, air-filled balls with a tactile surface are ideal for stimulating the feet, releasing fascia, and improving balance. Whether you're a Pilates instructor, physiotherapist, or movement-loving beginner, this simple tool delivers profound results.
🦶 Why Work With Your Feet?
Your feet are your foundation — literally. When they’re tense or underused, it affects your whole kinetic chain: knees, hips, spine, and even your shoulders. By using Franklin Textured Balls to release and reawaken the feet, you’ll:
- Improve sensory feedback and proprioception
- Support better posture and gait
- Reduce lower back or hip tension
- Enhance balance and movement efficiency
This is why so many Pilates instructors incorporate footwork at the start of class — it wakes up the nervous system and prepares the whole body to move more efficiently.
🧘 Step-by-Step: Foot Release Sequence
🌿 Use this sequence barefoot, standing near a wall or chair for support.
-
Centre Yourself
Stand upright. Notice how your feet feel against the floor. Are they gripping? Numb? Collapsing inward? -
Ball Placement
Place one Franklin Textured Ball under your right forefoot. Let your heel rest on the ground. -
Gentle Rolling
Slowly roll the ball under your foot from toe pads to heel. Avoid forcing or digging. Breathe. -
Weight Transfer
Shift your body weight slightly forward and back, letting the ball stimulate your foot's arch and pressure points. -
Lateral Glide
Roll side-to-side across the midfoot to release the transverse arch and outer edge. -
Repeat on the Left
Switch feet and repeat the sequence. Then stand again and notice the difference — many people report feeling more grounded, tall, and connected.
🔁 When to Use Franklin Textured Balls
- At the start of a Pilates session
